ONELAN measures up with Quividi

ONELAN has enhanced its Digital Signage range and now offers audience measurement integration, powered by Quividi. The new audience measurement solution delivers a rich set of data to understand how passers-by engage with Digital Signage content. Reporting covers, for example, the number of opportunities to see, the number of real viewers, attention time and dwell time. This data can then be analysed by gender and age class.

It provides a real-time video analytics solution that helps media owners, retailers and brands to finely count and qualify their audiences. VidiCentre automatically builds an informative graphical dashboard accessible via a simple web browser to reveal trends and correlations. This enables marketing and content management teams to make informed decisions and build effective campaigns driven by validated audience data.

Using the latest face and body detection technique and running on ONELAN’s 24/7 Net-Top-Box, the audience measurement solution delivers exhaustive metrics in a completely anonymous fashion and without ever recording any image or personal data.

ONELAN’s New Range of 4K Players

Sept 2014….. ONELAN has added a range of new 4K media players. The new 4K players are unique in the market place as they are true multi-zone players and can support mixed screen orientations making them ideal for feature video walls and retail applications. The players support IP streaming of 4K Ultra HD video, MPEG and audio streams and can also serve video streams from local storage. Other additional features include Wi-Fi and touch options and zone transparency.

ONELAN’s new range of 4K players is capable of supporting the ultra-high resolution displays that are becoming widely available. They are powered by 4th Generation Intel® CoreTM processors and HD 5000 graphics, enabling them to bring 4K content to life at the Ultra HD resolution of 3840×2160. Native 4K content can be played in H.264 at 30/60 fps and can support up to 16 HD video zones.  Fanless solid state options are also available.

As with all ONELAN products the 4K players are Linux based and therefore highly reliable, making them ideal for 24/7 applications where reliability is of paramount importance. The core features on which ONELAN’s range of Net-Top-Boxes (NTBs) is based are also incorporated i.e reliability, one off cost, high performance playback and Ad hoc capability.

Suchef Branded a Success with ONELAN

Suchef is the brand name of the chain of nutritional food-to-go restaurants, based in London, from Aroma Food Group (UK) Ltd.

Aroma Food Group is an ambitious and innovative food company that plans to transform food retail. It is keen to stand out from its competition by offering inspiring high quality food.

Its brand, Suchef, needed a digital menu board solution to enable it to regularly update content to its store locations.  It wanted the solution to be networked and scalable for future growth.

Digital signage was selected as it enables staff to implement menu, pricing and stock changes across all locations quickly.  It also creates a modern brand image.  A cloud based solution was needed so that staff could log in online, from any location, and make instant changes.

Two ONELAN digital signage media players are located in each store to deliver content to the displays. Eclipse Digital provided a scalable, cloud based digital menu board solution using its online, cloud based digital signage software, embedsignage.com, to manage and distribute the content. The digital menu board solution gives Suchef the ability to update menu board content instantly from any location with an internet connection. It also provides an overview of the content being displayed in each location and the device status for each store.  Suchef is also now able to add more locations under one account as it continues its expansion across London.

"Working with Eclipse Digital has been a success from day one. Not only have they provided us with leading edge technology and ideas on how best to deliver our menu board content; they were also ahead of the competition when it came to addressing regulatory changes in our industry that determined what information we would be legally required to deliver to our customers. Their thought process, professional creative skills and technical know-how have enabled us to confidently deploy digital menu boards throughout our locations and we would strongly recommend them to any food and beverage outlet looking at implementing a digital solution. At a very competitive price you will get a first-rate product coupled with the level of service that is unparalleled"

Mikhail Shiyanov, Operations Manager, Aroma Food Group (UK) Ltd

ONELAN Goes Wild at Marwell Zoo

Marwell Zoo, (formerly Marwell Zoological Park) is a 140-acre zoo and registered charity situated at Hampshire, UK. It homes over 170 exotic and endangered species from ants to snow leopards and is situated in 140 acres.

With a wide variety of different zones and visitor attractions Marwell Zoo wanted an interactive way to engage with its visitors. It has a large volume of information it wanted to be able to communicate to visitors daily to enable them to get the best out of their visit. Printed material alone was too limiting for Marwell Zoo’s requirements.

ONELAN’s reseller Eclipse Digital installed an outdoor interactive wayfinding solution using a ONELAN Net-Top-Box 660 and ONELAN’s CMS 100.

Eclipse Digital has created an interactive map so that visitors can locate different areas of the park and also touch the animal sections to discover key information about them. There is other information on the signage including forthcoming events, membership information and details of restaurants, shops etc.   The content is updated by Marwell Zoo's inhouse marketing & events team enabling them to communicate important information effectively.

“Eclipse Digital has brought a whole new dimension to how we communicate with and provide information for our visitors… The digital map needed to be easy for all age groups to use, aesthetically pleasing, informative, interactive and easy for us to update and we have been delighted with the end product.

We currently have two units situated at the front and back of our zoo with a long term plan to install more screens in our 140 acre site. From the start the whole process has been smooth and uncomplicated and we have Eclipse Digital to thank for their highly organised professional installation and ongoing technical support. We would highly recommend their services to any potential customers.”

ONELAN’s New CMS Features

Improving productivity for marketing departments and content designers is essential for efficient management of multichannel digital signage networks.  Large retail and advertising networks require frequent and accurate content updates. ONELAN’s new CMS features make this possible.

Channel and playlist complexity is simplified through use of the Conditional Play Editor.  Content and media players are tagged with pre-defined meta data values. Content then plays when the conditions are met e.g meta tags match.  Additionally to speed up building of long or complex playlists, playlist items can be duplicated and then the media only replaced, retaining the original items’ play properties.
