LOCKHEED MARTIN UK GROWS ICT FOOTPRINT WITH NATS CONTRACTLockheed Martin UK has further expanded its Information and Communication Technology (ICT) footprint by being named as the provider of ICT support services for NATS, the air navigation service provider operating at 15 UK airports and in over 30 countries worldwide.
The contract further strengthens Lockheed Martin’s position as one of the top ten ICT suppliers in the UK’s public sector and will extend the company’s long standing links with NATS.
Lockheed Martin UK already provides a diverse array of mission-based services to NATS, including systems architecture, engineering, software development, laboratory support and systems integration, in a relationship that spans more than 25 years.
Under the ICT agreement, Lockheed Martin UK is supplying NATS with Infrastructure Support Services across all their worldwide locations, including server support, storage and database support and network support; service management, including co-ordination of suppliers and procurement services; desktop support and virtual desktop support.
“I have been impressed with how quickly Lockheed has been able to understand what is necessary to support the NATS infrastructure and how they have worked collaboratively with the NATS team to transition the service in such a tight and demanding timescale. I am looking forward to building on this relationship and the exciting times ahead,” said Gavin Walker, NATS Chief Information Officer:
“Following an extensive sourcing exercise, NATS selected Lockheed Martin as the provider for the support of its business IT. Not only were NATS impressed by Lockheed’s ability to understand our requirements and offer us a compelling commercial proposition, but our ongoing strategic partnership gives us the potential to enable further operational synergies in future,” commented Tim Bullock, NATS Director of Supply Chain
“This extension of our long-standing partnership with NATS underlines our growing footprint in ICT support. We are committed to providing NATS with increased value-for-money, improved service levels and continuous service improvement, utilising our ICT expertise in the UK and our standing in the US as the federal government’s leading ICT contractor,” added Mark Cooper, managing director of Lockheed Martin UK Information Systems and Global Solutions Civil.
